PRINT DESIGN + MAGAZINES

more than words on a page …

Print isn’t dead. This has become more and more evident through the past few years, as now more than ever people are looking for tactile pieces that connect them to the world and make them feel like more than a statistical click on a webpage. The world of print can be fun, exciting, and can make a giant impression!

Magazines are also an integral part of any comprehensive marketing strategy. They tell the story as no other medium can, through the voices and images of real people.

McDaniel College - 2021 homecoming invitation

McDaniel College had their first in-person homecoming in two years, coming off of a hiatus due to COVID. Not only did the event include homecoming celebrations, but also two years worth of alumni reunions, and the birthday celebration of the Green Terror, the college’s beloved mascot. This was a major piece that would go out to thousands of alumni, and it needed to be special.

Through months of concepting and development, I landed on a design that included: a wheel incorporated into the cover that alumni could spin and find their specific Green Terror, a window on the inside front cover to reveal both old and new campus locations, an entire listing of the weekend’s events, and also a secondary design that included a perforated questionnaire and return-mailer for reunion-going alum.

West Virginia UNIVERSITY - COLLEGE OF LAW MAGAZINE

The WVU Law Magazine, published twice a year, is an important promotional and informational piece for everyone from law makers to alumni. This specific feature included an extensive amount of photo research and manipulation, in order to communicate the piece’s thesis of the importance of unmasking the myth of a one-dimensional Appalachian history.

WVU CPASS MAGAZINE - FALL 2018

The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPASS) publishes one magazine a year, in which they showcase the best and brightest students, faculty, and researchers. In the Fall 2018 issue, I concepted the art and design of the entire magazine, including the main feature, for which I acted as photographer, illustrator, and designer.
