ANIMATION

it’s aliiiiivvvveeeee …

The digital medium is endlessly flexible, socially sharable, and constantly changing. No matter the client, I strive to create digital content that pushes boundaries while standing the test of time.

“They call us mountaineers” — Official 2018-19 WVU Commercial

I was part of a two-person conceptual and creative team that executed the animations for our 2018 National Spot commercial. Using a low-poly illustration style, our goal was to craft something completely out-of-box that would both catch the eye of potential students and elevate the University’s brand.

This animation won both a silver and a bronze Telly Award in 2019.

WVU Tokyodachi animated gifs

I created these animated assets as part of an on-going social media campaign to increase interaction and sharing across our various channels. The series has since gone viral, having over 1o million collective views.

AB Campus tour video

The Alderson Broaddus University Campus Tour was created in an attempt to allow potential students and their families “tour” campus from the comfort of their own homes following the social restrictions of 2020. I oversaw the overall creative direction, including script creation, videography, capturing drone footage, and animation.

“Red riding hood”

For this short experimental video, based on the original Red Riding Hood fable, I combined hand-illustrated pieces with the capabilities of After Effects in order to create a sense of narrative that would feel steeped in the oral tradition from which storytelling was born yet have a modern pace for a contemporary audience.

AB Financial aid video

I created this animation for Alderson Broaddus University as a way to introduce incoming students (and others needing a refresh of the information) to the various parts of their financial aid package. The purpose of this short video was to help explain the process of applying for and receiving funds in a simple and fun way rather than the typical lecture-style intro given at most colleges and universities.
